A galactic-mass model is described that is based on the work by Allen and Martos (1986) and incorporates the proper motion results by Hanson (1987) and R0 and V(R0) by Kerr and Lynden-Bell (1986). Attention is given to approximating observed values of the rotation curve and the perpendicular force, and an analytical potential is given which yields closed-form positive density values at all points. A spherical central bulge, a disk, and a massive spherical halo make up the model, and the total mass and escape velocity are 9.0 x 10 exp 11 solar masses and 535.7 km/s, respectively. The model is found to provide constants of galactic rotation that agree with observational data, and the fully analytical potential function provides continuous derivatives at all points. The orbits of several high-velocity stars are determined with the present model, and the results are found to agree with those obtained previously.
