As a result of a joint analysis of the specific features of the lunar environment and the restrictions on the conditions under which space experiments are carried out, improvement is made in the construction of the fully automatic HAI-2 instrument for high-precision astrometric observations directly from the lunar surface. These improvements are made via the equal-elevation method which involves the photoelectric recording of the transit times of a series of stars.
