The authors propose that a sensitive instrument affording photometry and
spectroscopy at optical and ultraviolet wavelengths could be added, with
minimal expenditure, to the complement of AXAF detectors. An AXAF
Imaging Optical/UV Monitor would enable simultaneous X-ray, optical, and
ultraviolet data to be obtained for every AXAF field.
