0The free access LEDA extragalactic database is managing 35,841 images obtained by direct digitization of the Palomar Sky Survey between δ=-33deg and δ=85deg. These images are used to identify galaxies present in the LEDA database and to obtain their accurate coordinates using the Guide Star Catalog as a reference. The nominal accuracy is about 3 arcsec.. This is about half the pixel resolution and sufficient for galaxy identification. A first extraction of 68,040 galaxies is performed. For each galaxy, the basic photometric parameters are obtained: coordinates, diameter, axis ratio, total magnitude, position angle. The procedure which is described here is a first step towards automatic catalog construction.
