The aim of this paper is to present new ill-posedness results for the
nonlinear "good" Boussinesq equation, which improve upon the ones previously
obtained in the literature. In particular, we prove that the solution map is
not continuous in Sobolev spaces $H^s$, for all $s<-7/4$.
