Observations at 2.7 and 4.8 GHz are presented of an unusual and so far undetected, bar-like structure in the galactic plane at l = 65°. The source extends over 0°.7 by 0°.15, is polarized and has a steep spectrum. It consists of two outer components and a flatter spectrum central bulge. At 10.7 GHz the authors discovered an 8 mJy source in the centre, lying symmetrically between the two outer components. VLA observations at 4.885 GHz showed that this is compact with flux density 3.4±0.5 mJy, indicating a flat or inverted spectrum. These characteristics suggest that it is an extragalactic radio source seen in projection through the plane of the Galaxy.
