A simple analytic expression and a sample lookup table are provided which an observer can use to determine both the ideal exposure times and the total number of exposure that can be taken when seeking a series of twilight flatfields. The method is expected to be most useful for large format CCDs, where the rapidly changing surface brightness of the dawn or dusk sky creates great uncertainty during the extended readout times.
