New observations of the pulsating variable star XX Cygni have been obtained. The data were secured at the Brigham Young University West Mountain Observatory between 1984 and 1992 using the 0.6-meter reflector. Further observations were made at Kitt Peak National Observatory using the Burrell Schmidt telescope equipped with the S2KA CCD detector. A more accurate period for the stellar pulsation is derived. The data have been carefully examined in order to confirm the existence of a small amplitude migrating bump on the light curve. The presence of a bump is not supported by our observations. Analysis of the time-series differential ensemble CCD observations provide an explanation for the erroneous report.
