Linear and decoupled integral equations satisfied by the time-independent X- and Y-functions obtained by Lahoz (1989) are extended to the time-dependent radiative transfer problem. The extended method of linearization and decoupling of the integral equations is based on the theory of singular integral equations (Muskhelishvili, 1946).
