The paper studies the effects of viscosity and thermal conduction on the evolution of radiating fluid spheres. The present proposition for examining dissipative fluids in a general relativistic approach consists of a prescription of an equation of state which specifies the degree of anisotropy induced by the viscosity. The Herrera-Jimenez-Ruggeri method extended to the case of dissipative radiating fluids is used to elaborate an explicit Schwarzschild-like model.
