We present preliminary analysis of multi-epoch optical spectroscopic and polarimetric observations of the polar QS Tel taken at the SAAO from August 1999 to August 2002. All of the emission lines in the spectroscopic observations, folded on the ephemeris of Schwope et al. (1995), decrease in strength during phase 0.08 while the continuum remains approximately constant. We have found the same emission line behaviour in the optical spectroscopic data of Rosen et al. (2001,1996), Schwope et al. (1995) and Buckley et al. (1993). This 'dip' in the emission line flux coincides with a very narrow dip in the EUV and X-rays seen by Rosen et al. (2001,1996) and with a broad dip in our photometry (red band and sometimes blue), and in the I band data of Rosen et al (1996). We present a new geometry for QS Tel in which these multi-wavelength dips, all of them occurring at around phase 0.08, are due to an eclipse by the secondary of the stream and of the lower emission region on the surface of the white dwarf. We have found that a primary mass M1=0.5 M&sun;, secondary mass M2=0.23M&sun; and an inclination of 73 degrees fits adequately the stream and location of the secondary in our Doppler maps. We have also modelled one of our polarimetry lightcurves based on this new geometry and find good agreement with the data. We therefore present a new geometry for QS Tel as an eclipsing system which agrees with all the observations to date.
