A computer program, which automatically matches calculated and observed atmospheric spectra, has been set up. The program starts with the most negative solar elevation spectrum, giving thus preference to the strongest absorptions and avoiding the noise propagation downwards as in the onion peeling method. Several tests and first results are given to show the accuracy of the method.
