Narrow band imaging observations have been carried out in an attempt to detect Lyman alpha emission from high-redshift (z = 2.29-2.82) absorbers seen in the spectra of QSOs. No emission has been detected to a limit of 10 to the -16th erg/sq cm s. The derived limits of Lyman alpha emission at z = 2-3 are used to establish constraints on early galaxy revolution by comparing the limits with observations at the current epoch and with observations of absorbers at moderate (z = 0.5) redshifts. The results show that no significant increase of star formation activity takes place from moderate to high redshifts in a q0 = 0.5 universe.
