The author presents Castor and Lamers' atlas (1979) of correctly calculated P-Cygni-profiles using the comoving frame formalism. The atlas is computed for a wide range of physical input parameters assuming pure scattering in the line and may be applied to resonance lines formed in the winds of early type stars. The author's profiles may be corrected for underlying photospheric absorption lines by means of an improved correction formula. The author shows that systematic errors are caused by the use of the original Castor-Lamers correction formula and that contrary to previous statements the pure emission coming from the envelope is strongly asymmetric.
