The Nekresi Fire Temple is a second to third century A.D. archaeological site in eastern Georgia that was excavated by archaeologists towards the end of the twentieth century. In 2004 we carried out an archaeoastronomical investigation of this site, which indicated that it was used for astronomical observations. We now suggest that this structure should be renamed the ‘Nekresi Sun Temple’.
