On the basis of reasonable assumptions regarding the geometric shape,
rotation, internal motion and self-gravity of rotating stars, an
explicit expression for the correction to the quadrupole radiation is
derived. For the pulsar PSR 1937 + 214, the correction amounts to +60%.
