An atom probe field ion microscope characterization has been performed on a weathered region of the Santa Catharina meteorite (USNM No. 3043). This meteorite consists primarily of a metallic matrix, oxides, and Schreibersite (FeNi)3P. The metallic matrix was found to have decomposed into a random distribution of ≡12 nm diameter precipitates with compositions ranging from 38.6 - 54 at.% Ni in a matrix with lower nickel levels. Atom probe composition profiles between precipitates revealed a characteristic W-shaped nickel profile ranging from approximately 15% nickel adjacent to the precipitates to approximately 25% nickel in the central region away from the precipitates.
