A new method for calculating perturbations in orthogonal planet coordinates is proposed whereby only a simplified expansion of the main term of the perturbation function is used a priori. A more accurate expansion is obtained step by step together with the higher-order approximations. Details of the calculations are given, and results are presented in algorithmic form.
