An analytic solution is given for the problem of the propagation of a spherical magnetogasdynamic shock produced by an instantaneous or a continuous explosion in an inhomogeneous self-gravitating system such as a star. Similarity principles are used, and the density in the undisturbed gas is taken to vary as the inverse power of the radial distance from the point of the explosion. Variations of the Alfven Mach number of the shock wave are taken into account as well as changes in the energy of the wave with time. The results show that the solution singularity can be identified with the inner boundary of the wave. Within this boundary there is a vacuum, the entire mass around the explosion center having been expelled by the explosion.
