Galaxy Mergers: Galaxy Groups

A set of equations for the multi-merging process in a group of galaxies has been established. Several physical properties in the multi-merging process have been studied by numerical solution of the equation set. Calculation shows that initially compact groups of galaxies must be undergoing multi-merging at present, but their surface number densities will not increase as the merging proceeds and the radius decreases.
