Theoretical Stroumgren uvby and Johnson-Morgan UBV colors were calculated from the Kurucz (1976) grid of model atmospheres for G, F, A, B, and O stars, and calibrated to the standard systems using a model atmosphere for Vega of Teff = 9400 K, log g = 3.95. The resulting color-color grids were analyzed, and the usefulness of the photometric systems for derivation of atmospheric effective temperature, surface gravity, and abundance was assessed. Excellent agreement between the models and observations was obtained for Teff or = 8500 K. A discrepancy was found for Teff 8500 K, and possible sources of error were studied. Electrographic vby photometry was obtained for the globular clusters M5 and M71 in the range 14.0 V or = 18.0. The y vs. (b-y) color-magnitude diagrams were obtained and the (v-b) and (m1) indices were analyzed.
