The Chinese time determination system is studied. Discrepancies between
universal time and atomic time are examined, and attention is directed
to short periods of 111, 98, 61, 48, 38, and 30 days. Short-period
fluctuation of tides are considered, and the amplitudes of some lunar
terms are estimated. The value of the Love number k is determined.
