The atmosphere of the RV Tauri variable AC Herculis was analyzed. A series of high dispersion coude spectrograms were obtained at all major phases in the star's cycle. Equivalent widths were measured for atomic and molecular lines on these plates. A grid of model atmospheres was calculated which were used to calculate theoretical line strengths that were then matched to the observations to give the effective temperatures and surface gravities of AC Her as a function of phase. The comparison of theoretical and observed line strengths was also used in abundance determinations for Fe/H, C/H, N/H, and O/H. A mysterious high redshift velocity system was found to appear for a short time during the rise from primary light minimum to primary light maximum. The lines in this system were quite numerous and roughly the same strength as those of the lower velocity systems which were presumably formed in the photosphere. This high redshift system contained lines of neutral and ionized metals, including some with lower excitation potentials around 4eV. This appears to be the first time in any star that such a velocity system has been recorded that contained metallic lines.
