Scientific paper

An effective algorithm of locating the center of a stellar image is presented for the optical observation system of an astronomical telescope equipped with a CCD system on the ground. This algorithm is realized with the idea of gradually approaching and the influence of atmosphere turbulence is reduced, so that it is characterized by high speed and good precision. In addition, a software is developed with VC++ for Windows 98 to realize the image capturing and processing.
