Ammonia-water-rich solutions have been rheologically implicated in the formation of thick viscous extrusions on Uranian and Neptunian satellites. Ammonia-rich liquids are not noted to be an inevitable product of partial melting in ammonia-bearing satellites. In addition to important rheological effects, the dissolved S and C compounds in ammonia-water and other aqueous fluids may control the colors and albedos of resurfaced icy satellites.
