The long period variable star Mira was monitored at least once a month from October 1998 through maximum light in December 1998 to the end of February 1999. The 1.88m telescope of the David Dunlap Observatory was used with the Cassegrain spectrograph and Thompson 1024 x 1024 CCD detector. The resolution was 0.2A per pixel, and the wavelength ranges covered monthly were: 3900-4500A (H, Ca I, TiO, AlO), 4400-5000A (H, TiO, AlO), 6200-6800A (H, TiO, VO), 7700-8300A (O I, TiO, VO). The data sets were reduced using IRAF. The temperature, luminosity, aluminum strength, and aluminum oxide strength of the relatively faint maximum of December 1998 will be illustrated and discussed.
