We request two nights on the Blanco 4-m telescope with the Hydra multi-object spectrograph to obtain high resolution spectra of ~100 red giants in the globular cluster M 80 (NGC 6093). The spectra will be used to discover the existence and nature of any deep mixing phenomena in this previously unstudied cluster by looking for variations in the [Al/Fe] and [Na/Fe] ratios as a function of the brightest three magnitudes along the RGB. In addition, we will measure the abundances of the s-process elements, Zr and Ba, to search for evidence of primordial contamination. These data will be compared with the horizontal-branch morphology in order to discover if deep mixing on the RGB can be a second parameter in determining the extended blue tail seen in this cluster.
