Observations were conducted in the range of galactic latitudes less than minus 45 degrees of about 500 stars of known distances by a 1-m telescope. Polarization data is presented for the best measured stars with small polarization errors. A statistical approach based on normalized Stokes components and using the least squares method was used to obtain the direction of magnetic field alignment with respect to the galactic center.
