The paper examines a suboptimal algorithm for estimating the parameters of the relative motion of two satellites in almost-circular orbits given a full complement of measurements. The orbit of the passive satellite is considered to be known, which makes it possible to choose the orbital parameters of the active satellite as the parameters to be estimated; information about the structure of measurement errors is assumed to be incomplete. The stability, smoothing properties, and noise immunity of the algorithm are considered, and simulation results are presented.
