The propagation of spherical Alfvén waves along a radial magnetic field is discussed, with the presence of a radial mean flow. The only case in which an Alfvénic critical point does not exist is that of a homogeneous medium. In this case the wave equation has another singularity, namely a transition layer, which limits the radius of convergence of the solutions around the center. Asymptotic solutions are also obtained, so that the two sets together cover the whole physical region.
