We combined publicly available archival European Photon Imaging Camera (EPIC) data from XMM-Newton with ground-based optical and NIR datasets to measure the AGN fraction of nine low redshift (z < 0.05) galaxy groups. We found that out of 27 galaxies with MR < -20 spread over the nine groups, three were x-ray detected with luminosities greater than 1041 erg/s. These luminosities are consistent with x-ray luminosities of AGN. Based on this we derived an AGN fraction of approximately 11%.
