AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a source whose position is consistent with the flat spectrum radio quasar PKS 1510-089 (also known as BZQ J1512-0905; coordinates: R.A. = 15h 12m 50.5s, Dec. =-09d 05m 59.8s, J2000). Integrating from 2012-02-14 04:00 UT to 2012-02-17 04:30 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level of 7.3 sigma and a flux of (380+/-90) x 10E-8 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
