Using correlation analysis of data obtained at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory through observations at twilight over many years, global stratification of aerosol formations in the mesosphere is discerned. The stratification takes the form of a number of stable, comparatively thin layers exhibiting statistically independent behavior. The existence of a strong secular trend is established, together with a seasonal variability that is less pronounced. The distribution functions for the deviations in the thickness of the aerosol formations in each layer from the modal value are investigated.
