The capability of the instruments on the proposed Cassini payload to make in-situ and remote measurements of Titan's upper atmosphere is discussed. The multiple fly-throughs of the Orbiter at heights well below the ionospheric peak offer an opportunity for detailed aeronomical studies of this atmosphere. They will be supplemented by solar and stellar occultations and measurements of airglow and aurora on Titan and Saturn.
