The difference caused by the atmospheric drag between the nodal period of artificial satellites and the corresponding Keplerian period in analytically studied for orbits with small eccentricities. Considering various effects in the distribution of the upper atmospheric density (described by the Total Density thermospheric model) and the atmospheric rotation as well, an analytic expression for the mentioned difference is established. Some particular cases are discussed.
