The endeavor for future human exploration of the solar system requires a spacecraft with sufficient capabilities suitable for long-duration missions. This paper presents a hypothetical concept for a spacecraft that I have termed (ARIES): Advanced Research Interplanetary Exploration Ship. The planned size of ARIES would be nearly four times that of a NASA Space Shuttle Orbiter. This ship would provide a human crew with a suitable platform with a greater interior volume needed for sustained interstellar space travel. ARIES could be constructed from existing technologies and various durable lightweight composite materials thus reducing the mass of the spacecraft without compromising the hull integrity or survivability of the ship. .
