The weak distributed acceleration of cosmic rays with energies greater than about 1-3 GeV/nucleon after their escape from compact sources is considered. It is proposed that the additional acceleration and spatial diffusion of cosmic rays is ensured by the interaction of relativistic particles with interstellar MHD turbulence. The propagation and nuclear fragmentation of cosmic rays in a diffusion galactic model with weak additional acceleration is studied. It is shown that this model is in good agreement with observational data on cosmic rays and the interstellar medium.
