An adaptive algorithm for the digital processing of TV images of stars
using a CCD as a sensor is proposed. The solution procedure involves the
addition of squares of CCD signal sampled values, and their comparison
with the adaptive threshold level. Statistical simulation demonstrates
the high efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
