Stars in the Hyades cluster are compared with Coma cluster and main-sequence field stars to determine if the Hyades anomaly is truly a case of anomalous behavior. The difference in metallicity between the two clusters does not appear to account for the entire difference in the Stroemgren indices. It is shown that the levels of magnetic activity do not differ between the clusters and that activity is therefore not the culprit. It is harder to account for possible differences in helium abundance, and this problem is discussed.
