UBVR monitoring of AB Aur at Mt. Maidanak and high-resolution spectral observations of it on the Main Stellar Spectrograph of the 6-m reflector of the BTA as well as the CCD spectrometer of the 2.6-m reflector at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory are analyzed. The rotational modulation of light variability with the 2d92(70h) period were observed. The H-alpha symmetrical profile and H-beta double symmetrical profile were observed while the star returned to a light maximum. A sharp H-beta symmetrical profile and the expansion of the hot envelope were observed. Unusual behavior was noted in other spectral lines, (8542 Ca II, H and K Ca II, and D1 D2 Na) and intense D3 He I. Variability of Vr and V sin i obtained from the absorption line Mg II 4481 was found. No clear periodicity in variations of line profiles with 70h or 45h periods was found.
