In order to establish the possible influence of the luminosities of galaxies on the results of radio emission counts, the radio emission occurrence frequency was determined for different brightness categories of the galaxies in several galaxy groups. It is found that radio emissions are more frequently found in the brightest galaxies in groups of galaxies than in the fainter members, regardless of the absolute magnitudes of the galaxies. For the groups of galaxies considered, the brightest galaxy did not always occupy the central position in the group, but could even be found at the edge of the group; this indicates that their maximum brightness in the group, and the fact that they have radio emissions, can not be explained by interstellar matter flowing into them, but by internal causes. The probability of finding radio emission in the brightest galaxy of a group is about ten times higher than for finding it in the fourth brightest member of a group, indicating a high degree of activity in the brightest galaxies of the groups.
