Active Galactic Nuclei candidates can be identified in deep,
multi-wavelength surveys using a variety of techniques. Here we discuss
some of these methods, recent results from the Groth Survey Strip AGN
survey, and the application of these techniques to the selection of AGN
candidates for the GOYA survey with EMIR on the GTC.
