The paper considers the generation of acoustic gravity waves by a point mass moving rectilinearly and uniformly in an exponentially stratified atmosphere. It is assumed that the horizontal trajectory of the body is far enough away from the earth's surface so that gravity effects of the planet can be neglected. Phase velocity relationships and distributions of infrasonic pressure and density disturbances are presented.
