The H2O southern galactic Plane Survey (HOPS) has detected 540 water masers, using the Mopra radiotelescope. In early 2010, we observed the last third of HOPS with Mopra. We wish to follow up all detections with high resolution ATCA snapshot observations, to pinpoint the maser emission. This will enable us to accurately compare positions to other masers and thermal emission. We will also derive high resolution morphologies of the maser sites, in order to better understand the origin of the water masers. Finally, we will simultaneously observe compact ammonia and radio continuum sources, using CABB, which will shed more light on the physical conditions under which the masers occur.
