New transition probabilities based on sophisticated configuration interaction wavefunctions have been obtained for all transitions between the fine-structure levels of the 2s2 2p, 2s 2p2, 2p3, 2s2 3s, 2s2 3p and 2s2 3d states of N III. Good agreement is found between the length and velocity formulation values for the oscillator strengths of electric dipole allowed transitions.
