A new set of accurate transition probabilities based on configuration interaction wavefunctions has been obtained for many transitions of astrophysical interest in the singlet and in the triplet systems and for intercombination lines of C I. The CIV3 code of Hibbert (1980) was used for the calculations and small empirical adjustments were introduced to the diagonal matrix elements in order to reproduce accurately the observed energy splittings between the energy states. The accuracy of the results has been tested from comparisons with the experimental and theoretical results previously available.
