An accurate method is used for solving the scattering and absorbing Milne problem. This method used trial functions based on Case's eigenvalues plus a linear combination of exponential integral functions. The proposed trial function is used in the Milne integral equation reducing it to a system of algebraic equations to be solved for the expansion coefficients. Numerical results for extrapolated endpoint, emerging angular distribution and total density are given and compared with the published results. The calculations show the efficiency of the proposed method.
