All known measurements of heights on the moon are analyzed to evaluate the effect of errors in initial data and of incomplete coverage of the lunar surface by the height observations on the accuracy of representation of spherical- and sampling-function expansions of the moon's geometric figure. It is found that the sampling-function expansion is quite advantageous, that errors in the initial data lead to rms errors of the order of 0.3 to 0.6 km in mean radius and in the coordinates of the geometric center, and that the lack of data for roughly 35% of the lunar surface entails inaccuracies of about 0.2 to 1 km in radius and geometric center. The results indicate that the radius of the moon is 1737.7 + or - 0.6 km and that the center of the figure is displaced relative to the center of mass by approximately -2.1 km from earth, -1.2 km southward, and -0.5 km westward.
