We extended Bouvier & Bertout's (1992) analysis of T Tauri star spectra by incorporating Duschl & Tscharnuter's (1991) models for the global structure of boundary layers. Whereas this would allow for radially extended boundary layers, we indeed find radially thin boundary layers with typical extents of ≍ 3% of the radius of the acereting star. Moreover, both, the boundary layer width and the mass flow rate, are better constrained in this new approach.
