An accelerated computer method is developed for calculating the descent trajectories of axisymmetric ballistic reentry vehicles with slight asymmetry. The method is based on the asymptotic separation of the system of equations of motion relative to the center of mass into two subsystems, describing the slow and fast components of the solution. The trajectory calculation involves only the slow component. An algorithm is presented for the formal construction of an asymptotic series for the slow component in the nonlinear case. An approximate nonlinear mathematical model for the slow motion of an axisymmetric vehicle with slight asymmetry is obtained, and the error of this model is assessed.
